I didn’t mention it at all, but I’ve had a big project on my needles for a good bit of time, but somehow never got to take a good picture of it so I didn’t feel like writing about it.
I started knitting a Coraline cardigan, using some unmarked 100% alpaca yarn I bought last year in All You Knit is Love, when I was on my way to Backnang for the First German Ravelry meeting a few weeks ago. I had a little trouble with the cast on, as this was the first time I tried a provisional cast on with a doubled hem, but I’m quite happy with the result, as it gives some extra body to the hem.
I took this project with me to Berlin, as well as my Poisonous Ishbel, which I took so I could take with me to knit, so I would have something extra to knit in the evenings. I advanced quite a lot on the trip, and then finishing the yoke didn’t take too long.
I had to add some extra rows and change the yoke raglan decreases as my gauge wasn’t exactly right, but it came out rather nicely, even if too tight around the neck; I think I’ll just leave the cardigan button-less and wear it open, although I find some really nice hand made ceramic buttons for it in the nicer local yarn shop.
Project is raveled here.
